A married woman died in a suspicious condition on Monday night in Vishunpur village of Jalalpur police station area in Jaunpur. The family members talked about hanging themselves, but the people of the maternal side who reached the spot accused them of dowry death. The sister of the deceased lodged a complaint with the police station and accused the in-laws of murder. Police sent the dead body for postmortem. Molai, a resident of Rajepur village, had married his daughter Monika eight years ago with Vishun Majhwara resident Ranjit Kumar Gautam’s son Kamta Prasad.

Ranjit Gautam works in a company in Phulpur. His wife lived in her village with her mother-in-law, father-in-law and child. He died on Monday night. Husband Ranjit told the police that Monica had committed suicide by hanging herself. Monica’s parents who reached the spot in the morning accused her of dowry death. Mamta, the sister of the deceased, while giving Tahrir at the police station, alleged that just a few days after the marriage, my sister’s in-laws were not satisfied with the gift given at the wedding. He used to torture his sister physically and mentally because of this. Panchayat has been held many times among themselves regarding this matter. Fearing murder, Mamta demanded action. Manika has a son and a daughter. In this case, Police Station President Jalalpur Ramesh Yadav told that the married woman died due to hanging. The case is being investigated. Further action will be taken after the post mortem report comes.
